Located in the old Ben Franklin building...

The former 5 and 10 Ben Franklin Retail Store was renovated to form an exciting hub of activity and offer a unique retail and dining experience. With local vendors, cooks and artisans constantly updating and changing the product offerings, a stop at the Market is a must for your shopping/dining experience.

The vision of the Brookings Commercial Kitchen is to actively expand and thoughtfully enhance food-related businesses, experiences, opportunities and activities of the Brookings region by supporting local food entrepreneurs and by recruiting regional and national guest chefs to host one-of-a-kind dining experiences.

In keeping with the 5 and 10 Ben Franklin tradition, you will be greeted with a wide variety of products and food for everyone and maybe even a bit of nostalgia.

Our Mission

The mission of the Brookings Commercial Kitchen is to support local food entrepreneurs and food-based businesses with access to appropriate affordable space, diverse programming, and targeted promotion and to spur community engagement in the food industry through varied activities, exciting events, and premier programs.

EQUIPMENT

All kitchen equipment was provided to the Brookings Commercial Kitchen through a grant given to us by the Brookings Economic Development Corporation.
